Light spill

Afternoon,

ok so tank is up and running g for a few months now and everything is great corals seem to be happy and fish are great... I am running two giesmann verve led lights about 16” off the top of the water and feel like the light spill is crazy in the room.... this is my first big tank and lights and not sure if it is normal for the light to basically light the whole room or be as powerful.. the settings are down to 50% power.... any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated

Good question! Yes, light spill is a real thing that has to be considered. Two of the possible options are to lower your lights closer to the water level or add shades to block the light that doesn't hit the tank. Good luck!

when I changed from viparspecta to g5s the light spill was too much. I ended up building a canopy

Ya I’m debating on lowering the lights a bit to see if that helps the light spill is pretty bad
