LiquidEric’s 8’ x 4’ x 28” high peninsula build thread

I just placed an order for a 8’x4’x28” high acrylic peninsula aquarium and a 40” tall aluminum stand with Fishtanksdirect. Tank should arrive in a few months I’ll update the thread along the way. Tank will be a bare bottom mixed reef lit with 6 Orphek Atlantiks v4 gen2 and possibly some Orphek blu plus light bars. Sump will be a custom acrylic sump I will build myself.

Its a peninsula chances are he will have a access on both sides so really it would be no wider then yours for the reach

I hear you on maintenance. I’m 6’5” so it helps a little. I’ll rarely need to reach right into the middle. Hopefully I don’t regret it

My current 400 is a tsunami tank from FTD. Took somewhat longer to get than they originally said, but otherwise I’ve bern very pleased with the quality.

I hear you on maintenance. I’m 6’5” so it helps a little. I’ll rarely need to reach right into the middle. Hopefully I don’t regret it

My tank is 30 inches deep and wide, however my stand is 4ft high, so every time I will need to do inner tank maintenance I need a ladder but hay that what I wanted.

They told me 8-10 weeks how much longer did yours take than quoted?

Tank was ordered about a month ago. Probably will arrive in about 6 weeks. Decided to provide a good portion of the far ends flow with 2 larger sea swirls that will be hidden by the canopy combined with gyres and mp’s on the overflow end. I’ll create a moving gyre to keep detritus moving.

I’ve purchased the acrylic for the sump which will be made mostly from 1/2” with some 1/4” baffles. 48”x42”

I’ll post some updates when I have some pics.

Aquascape will be a combination of real reef shelf and branch rock along with Marco rock for the base of the rock.

Just got the call an hour ago. It’s ready for pickup. Need to figure out a forklift rental as the pallet is too big for the lift gate and weighs 1191 lbs haha.
