If I dose your live phyto to my tank will it continue to grow? Does it not grow and survive in reef tanks? IF not why does live phyto die in reef tanks?

I think the reason for continuous dosing is that the phtyo gets consumed by things in the tank. I don't know how much remains in a tank on average after some getting eaten but I am sure others have a better answer
