There is nothing wrong with live rock farmed in the ocean... if you are prepared for the consequences. I tried it and got more bad stuff than I bargained for. In particular, a couple of algae species that took me a year to eradicate.
If it’s live rock that’s maricultured there really isn’t any guarantee about hitchhikers being there or not. It’s not really feasible to have rock “marinating” (shall we say?) on the sea floor for years and prevent varios critters from making said rocks their home.
