thanks, that's what i was afraid of. brs has some slim gallon containers that are just 2.5 inches wide, but not sure if there is even space in there for those. actual dimensions are 9-1/4"L x 2-1/2"W x 14 3/4"H. probably tricky to implement anyway at least to pump from the bottom. plus, i'd like to start with kalk too.

i wonder about building something that supports supplement containers about the sump, or maybe even downsizing the sump, but that seems like a waste of a perfectly good sump.

I'm torn as well. I haven't had the chance yet, but the plan was to build something that goes along the side of the tank.
