I'm considering adding a Longnose Butterfly to a mixed reef. I know it's reef-safe with caution and I've already removed acans because my CBB found them tasty. I'm ok with potential nipping here and there... we will adapt. However, I have a tuxedo urchin that I do not have any intention of removing so I don't want the new kid eating his feet off.

Anyone have experience in this? I've read a little about it, but nothing solid.

Thanks

i don't have a longnose, but my burgess does pick at urchins. it doesn't seem to bother them too much, although i can't imagine they're psyched about it. he hasn't killed any of them, but they do seem less active than they were before. i think they mainly graze at night now, which seems common for inverts when something is in the tank they might perceive as a predator
