Ocean life, FJW, and T&T are all pretty good. Ocean Life and FJW seem to have the biggest variety of different things. T&T seems to have some pretty basic stuff and occasionally some neat pieces. The Cinco Store has some good exotic stuff but really pricey. They are smaller and have some wonky hours from time to time, but they are knowledgeable and seem to be honest. All 4 of these stores seem to have competent owners and staff who willtalk through things with you.
I will say stay away from the store off Westheimer and Synott. I have had two outbreaks of Ick because of them. I now quarantine everything because of them. The owner is not very honest it seems either. Only seems to be worried about the money made and not the livestock or the customer experience after selling. They will sell you anything you want to buy even if they know it isn't going to be a good fit for your tank.
