I think you may have sold me on the NSA, that looks really cool
Thank you. It is exactly what I wanted and I wouldn't be able to duplicate if I tried. It's very rewarding to build from the ground up. Let me know if you have questions I'm happy to try to help.

I may have a couple questions haha. Did you use the method from the BRS video? With the superglue then the Marcorocks mortar? I'm kind of wondering if I could just use epoxy instead of the mortar.

I only used sand and glue. No mortar. I actually tried breaking the bond to change something and the rocks broke before the glue and sand joints would...

Okay, thanks! I think I will do it that way too, that mortar is super pricy. Just need to make a trip to the hardware store tomorrow to grab a hammer and chisel!

Hey everyone, I'm setting up my first reef tank in a biocube 32 and am still working on the aquascape! I have changed it a couple times but here is what I have right now.

Reef tank aquascape 2.jpg

What does everyone think of this? What should I change? Will there be any issues with dead spots and such? Any feedback would be much appreciated! Thank you.
It seems to dense to me. Try to lift the rocks away from each other to create more hiding places.
I would try to create more terraces too

also have a look at this. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/tidal-gardens-aquascape.783164/

Ultimately its your hardscape let it breathe for 24 hours and revisit. i like to build for weeks to get it just how i want. But if you arent perfectly happy with it then change it. I personally really enjoy it and think it would look good as an island or cornerpiece

Yeah thats what I ended up doing. Ended up making a second piece to go with it and just put everything in the tank today.

Really like how it came out. You can't really tell from the picture but the large red rock formation its kind of like and over hang and doesn't connect to the other rock. Glad that I spent as much time as I did. Not the most amazing scape ever, but I'm happy with it.

There's another picture of the taller rock formation, ita hard to get the full look of it on the picture, but you get the idea.

@F i s h y you made your scape out of cured rock. Any insights
Mine did fine, the key is to keep it wet with a spray bottle and work on it in sections. I worked for 30 or 40 minutes then would dunk it in a Rubbermaid of saltwater. Worked out great. My one recommendation would be to put it in a tote with some Dr tims or bottled bacteria for 24 hours prior to placing in the tank. I found that without the surface bacteria dinos tried to colonize it even with keeping it moist. The extra soak for 24 hours alleviated that on my 2nd one...

Here is mine.

This is much more interesting setting than the one before.
