It could be ich, but I don’t think so. The spots seem too diffuse (but that could just be the focus of the photo being off). Do you see any dinstinctbrsised white spots on the trigger’s body? Ich shows up pretty clearly on the black portions of these fish.

Only in tail fin edge and bottom fin in photo. Nothing observed on body. Lymph?

Yeah - I'm thinking Lymphocystis or bruised fin rays. Here is the trick - use the picture you have and look at the fish tomorrow and compare. If the spots are in the exact same spot after 36 hours, it is unlikely to be ich, after 48 hours certainly not. On the other hand, if the spots go away and then come back in new locations on the fish, that is more likely ich.

TY. Unfortunately I already added him to qt that has 2 fish who already have ich and are being treated with Copper Power @ 2.50ppm. Clock now starts over but only 2 days in. Since clown trig now exposed he will need to be treated regardless now :(

Well, even if it is ich, treatment has begun, so I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Just to close the loop…..nothing fell off after 36 hours so it is conclusively Lymph. However since he’s in a QT tank with 2 other trigs who definitely have/had ich and who’s spots have dropped, I will need to keep him in medication that he didn’t needs for the full 30 days treatment……or do I??? Could I just remove him, give him a 5-7 minute fresh water dip and put him in DT? Some say yes, others say no. What do you think?

I would say NO! really loudly (grin). FW dips do not kill 100% of the trophonts, and may not kill tomonts at all. Unless there is a compelling reason not to (like serious fighting) I think the clown trigger is "in it to win it" and needs to stay the full course.....
