I want to look at adding rock in my SUMP to increase the total amount of LR I have in my total system.

SUMP VISUAL
[___|||__]

I wanted to look at adding a few pounds in both sides, obviously less in the smaller return area. I can add a power head to each area to get water movement.

Is there any concern with adding LR to the SUMP? I understand the issue with still water collecting detritus, so I will use a PH to move water.

From my research online I do not need any light on it, correct? Just rock and water movement?

Your sump would be better served if you grew macro algae in it instead of trying to up your LR. The algae will help remove a bunch of garbge from the water system that Live Rock does not. And adding a Algae Turf Scrubber would even be a better idea.

Do you have a link to a product you recommend for the algae turf scrubber?

Do you recommend both the scrubber and a refugium area?
