It's kinda funny because if I buy a fish without my wife she gets upset that I spent money. If I take her to the fish store I end up spending at least 3 times what I had planned on and she asks if I want that one too...
I'd put a reminder on your phone to take your wife with you any time you go to the fish store

OK I see posts saying a year for nems was just wondering if it was the same
Some tanks are ready after a week or two, some may not be ready even after a year. It's all about getting the tank stable/steady and keeping it that way.

How old does a tank need to be for a rock flower?

I'm not an anemone expert, so take this with a grain of salt (hah), but I'd lean into the 6-8ish month range if you started with dry everything and are still going through the uglies and swings. If your tank is super stable, it could be sooner, but you'd know your tank best!

I like how you used "grain of salt" while talking about a reef tank!

Agreed. I'd get past the uglies if I started with dry rock but with live rock it would be much faster.

Been stable for a couple months. Coming up on 11 months. Just thinking of something new to put in there.
My tank has been up since the Fourth of July. I'm considering adding one or two come September.

Main thing is watch your parameters. If you see a lot of swings, dips, peaks frequently you're probably not ready.
