do you run a skimmer on your nano

I do use a skimmer however it’s not always great as my RO runs down way too fast (evaporation at this time of year is hell to keep up with) to keep up with every day. But in winter it does a great job or Atleast film algae growth is much slower.
As for coral they couldn’t care less if it’s a bad skimmer and thrive (except my GSP… that died for some reason).

Cyno is back. (It never really left I guess) but I’m happy to say my corals are coming back nicely. My Walt Disney is still holding on but has a long way to go. Maybe 2-3 months.

color Is coming back on all but have had to turn off my dosing as they are not consuming more than my kalk drip.

spent about 2 hours cleaning the tank today.

Wanted to provide an update. Still battling Cyno. I confirmed it with the microscope I just got. Super fun toy.

I’m happy that most of my coral have started to color up nicely but I’m on my second week that I’ve had to turn off my dosing. I’m getting enough from kalk and wc. Little bummed my growth has slowed but glad to see color coming Back.

did a water change today, tomorrow will be the sign if the Cyno will be back.

Some sad news this week. First, my three banggai cardinals (the three amigos) weren’t so friendly they killed the weakest link on Tuesday. Pretty bummed. Feel bad for the fella.

what was more depressing I woke up this morning to find my female orange storm clown fish on the floor. Super bummed! The male is grieving in the corner right now.

I need to research but want to get another female. If I don’t choose a female for some reason will one of them change automatically? Any insight would be appreciated.

on a positive side, I was away on business all week and when I came home the corals never looked as good from a color and PE standpoint.

Some good news. I went to lfs yesterday and got a new storm clown. I picked up a small one per posts on this site. I ended up taking out my anemone rock once the clown was acclimate and “pushed“ it into the nem hoping it would take. It didn’t At the time but my wife woke me up at 3am saying the nem hosted the new clown. Right now it’s name is “Fin”. It’s a storm clown.

Anyway super happy it only took a day. The male clown and the new one haven’t quite paired up yet but they occasionally go by each other We will see. I’m hoping the male will follow Fin into the nem.

Picked up some frags as well. Already lost a $40 zoa polyp. after I got them home I have to say I did a pretty crappy job picking them out, especially the sps. Lol.

curious what this is. I thought it was an Acan

I think it may be a lobophyllia, but I’m not too great at coral ID.

when I got the new clown I also got a purple firefish. Havent seen it since I put it in on Saturday. I’m assuming it didn’t make it. I’ve looked everyday and nothing.
