Ok so I made a photo of my diy co2 scrubber ...its not pretty but jeez this thing works great

I have it sitting on my chiller ..you can see a few of the granules have already changed color..
And this is my ph for the last 24hrs

Why haven't I done this earlier ..tank is finally starting too look happy again ...

So I'm going to be joining the apex club ....I've just bought a second hand apex classic for 50 euros from a friend ...although it's just the unit and no probes with it ....but it's a start ..

So my latest Triton results are back ...nothing special ..few trace elements bit low ....so good news ..!!!

I'm a bit surprised at my Triton results ...I was really expecting something too be off ...that being said tank is looking beter ...dinos are a little less...I've reduced my lighting schedule by 2 hrs ...

Co2 scrubber is really helping the tank ...this is the highest it's been in a long time

So just done all my testing ...

Everything good ....tank has been stable for last few weeks ...even seeing growth again ...only dinos still ...but tomorrow start 3 day blackout ...

So the lights went back on today ....

id say its 60% gone ....see if it looks worse tomorrow ......is it worth doing another 3 days lights out ....How long should I wait if I was too do another ...a week ..2 weeks ...I'm thinking maybe I should try dinoX ...or should I just avoid that ...

If it were me, I would just make sure the flow has been increased (I found this to be a key part of this) which I think you have, leave it maybe a week and then try again just to let the corals get some light for a while as we don’t want to harm them.

Alternatively if the corals looks fine now, maybe just leave it a day and try again before they can can take hold again, but you would have to judge.

It certainly looks better and if you can do it naturally by a blackout it’s got to be better than chemicals, but of course it depends what strain of dinoflagellates you have.

When I had them I read all sorts of ‘solutions’ to the problem and there is a really long thread on here, but this is what I decided on after researching, and in my case it worked and they never came back

This is a simple solution and if it works all is good, but if not you always have the Dino X to try

I’ll be interested to see how you get on with this, I read it’s very good and I’ve seen an example on another site we’re its worked and cleared it up
