Thank you, I read a description about food chains earlier, how it should work!
I always felt that "clinical" wasn't the way it should be done but you do have to deal with nutrients somehow!
A lot of thought and few sit down with a coffee discussions were had designing the tank, I designed the tank and my lfs manager designed the sump.
I would never recommend running a tank my way but I think there could be one or 2 things that make people think that maybe there is a simpler way to do this or that!

I got called a "guru" to my face the other day, I have had that on the interweb as well, it makes me very uncomfortable, I'm just a bloke trying to do things a bit more simply! ;)

New badge for u simon...

Oh, I hope you get things sorted.

Need to find work, and I figure why settle. Go big. The rocky mountains are truely our Purple Mountains Majesty.

My heart is in the wilderness. Cities arent for me. I want to be free to walk to my mailbox naked type of country boy. Ha.

Thanks for asking, still living month to month, I am ok through June currently.

I am planning a move to restart in the mountains in the west/central u.s... gonna hang tight until some things change, and then sadly. I will have to sell everything off in the future. Not sure when yet. But a reboot will follow soon after. I will likely hold off on the macro and new additions unless something changes, which it wont.

For now this will chug along... as it is.

Good luck with the move, I wish I had some trimmings to donate!

Thanks, it is far down the road. And I will likely sell everything here, open house almost, piece out the tank, and just go there with minimal stuff. Start over with everything when I get there.

man I was looking forward to following this one.

If I can talk my better half into finishing what I started, it may be full of macro next week and have a decorator crab. We really dont know if we will have the child for a month, or a year. It's really out of our hands.

We shall see.

The story is my actual build thread for this system. Qe have temporary custody of my girls' niece while the mother and father go through the system and get approved to have her back. Sad story.

So until she is released from our care, the tank will remain running.

Little update.

Recieved a gift from a semi-local friend. Thanks @Scurvy for the generous gift.

It should be installed this weekend.

Still not a cut of macro, waiting for AlgaeBarn to have a sale...

Any other recommendations?

That was my piece above, I wish I could send you some, this is the rescue piece, just had a clean, it will be fragged once it has settled for a bit longer. ;)

I was waiting for you to share the "impulse" buy that required overfeeding ;)

First things first, official unveiling now.
I got this 11 days ago, it was in a hell off a state.
This was also just powerhead cleaned when it went in, not brushed.
All you could see was flesh colour in places, all skinny flesh, it is lilac / lavender with gold polyps, early days still but looks promising! :)
