Thinking its time to do the thing and get the upgrade started on the 75g. Basically my 75g is a planted freshwater, and I'll be evicting everything and prepping for salt there. I've chosen an AIO instead of a sump, so will need to silicone that in. Then i'll empty this current reef into the 75. Then i'll clean and add fresh back to this 29. So a tank swap. Sounds messy and time consuming. Several days, even if I move fast since i'll be waiting on silicone to cure. The fresh fish will be set up in a temp tank with filter and heat for the duration of the swap, since they'll be first out and last back in.

Lights will transfer over, other equipment will be new, like a bigger return pump and heater, and the return and heater will be fine for fresh. I've already ordered the freshwater light, and bigger return pump and heater, basically waiting on silicone for the AIO part and then I can start.

Trying to be positive and not get too overwhelmed, but this has been curating for some time now, and I need to just do it.

So, tank swap getting closer, just gathering the last few things I'll need.

29 gallon reef (dirty glass and all), soon to be 29g freshwater planted:

And the 75g fresh, soon to be 75g reef:

Basically now waiting on a couple nice days so I can rinse sand outside.

Well, hoping to get another brute can today and some big hose for siphoning the sand out. I think the last of the supplies I'll need for this project. I'm planning to start the emptying of the fresh 75 today if I can find the brute can.

Wish me luck! And send coffee.

That's a cute mug!! Why be a regular pony when you can be a caffeine unicorn?! Right?
Exactly!!
The hair even matches.
Though, I haven't attempted to hulahoop in years.

Inching closer to starting the transfer. Got the temp tank ready on the counter for the fresh fish to stay while everything is cleaned and transferred.

IMG_20230404_165442251.jpg

Got a shelf up over the tank so I can have the freshwater light hang while I'm working.

IMG_20230402_161334004_HDR.jpg

Will be taking out any coral that are not glued down and adding to the Evo for the duration of the transfer. Really wishing I had a frag tank right about now.

So I've done some things.

And now I'm tired. Don't Underestimate small fast fish. They're tricky.

All removed from the 75g:
8 khuli loaches
6 glow skirt tetras
4 cherry barbs
2 neon tetras
2 pearl gouramis
2 Cory's
2 Siamese algae eaters (these were the toughest, they're like bullets!)

Got the AIO pieces un packed and I'll have to check online if there were instructions or something for the baffle placements?

Will rest and work on that tomorrow.

Did some more things. I was about to silicone my insert together, but last minute posted about it and was convinced to use weld on 4 instead. I'm definitely happy I used the solvent. Now off to wait a day or two then I'll silicone that to the glass in position, and wait some more. Pretty excited to see this come together as I've been dreaming of this upgrade for a while now.

I did the thing. AIO is now siliconed in place, the front looks nice, but the back is... there. Not the prettiest but it's secure. I was thinking of using window tint to block out most of the light on this end anyway for algea reasons, so you won't see the silicone. That way I can still see in there with a flashlight if I really need to.

Did you get your light yet i wanna see lol.....
I didn't! I should check the tracking...

I'm still trying to get this 75 going. Got a little side tracked, hubs unexpectedly bought a giant recliner and we have a tiny living room so we had to shuffle things around. Which included the tank moving. We were able to fit all the furniture but it's not my ideal spot. Thankfully it was already empty when we decided.

The chair makes the tank look small, lol

Light came early! However, this will take some next level brain power... that I don't have. At the moment.

Of course my internet didn't have 2.4g and I don't know how to do that. Looked it up and only further confused myself. I. Do. Not. Get. It.

About liquor time and it's only 2pm. That kind of day.

So basically it seems my router is the hybrid 2.4 and 5g together, although the tag lists that they should be separate names, when looking from my phone at the details, the one that should be 2.4 is coming in at 5 so the noopsyche app won't connect because of that. In LAN mode. AP mode won't work or I'm just dumb. Might be both?

So at this point I guess I call tech support and be one of those clueless idiots they hate taking to.
