I found this at the grocery store and it was on sale for 3.99. I was thinking of thawing it out deshelling everything throwing it in a blender and then putting it back in the ice cube trays to refreeze. Thoughts?

Ended up getting fresh calamari, scallops, mussels, shrimp and salmon and blended it up in to a god awful looking mess. Will freeze and see if they like it. The calamari didn't shred very small though.

I've found that the slimy stuff chops up nicer if it's first frozen.

This is why I come here! Lol. Man didn't even think of that. I will break up my trays when they are frozen and re blend them again. Thanks for the tip!

Brs has good videos on it. Keep it frozen and use a Parmesan cheese grater/roller.

im planning to mix up a batch to which I’ll add beta glucan, vita-chem and selcon.

Go to you local fish market and grab stuff for diy

Fish eggs. I use the frozen from a Lfs
Squid
Octopus ( has to be precut into chuck's or it binds blender or food processor)
Clams
Oyster ( I buy them already shucked seems to be a little cheaper and less work)
Mussels
Whole shrimp (deshelled)
I use a sw white fish
Freeze dried plankton
Blend it up in blender or food processor freeze on cookie sheet. Pull it out and cut into small cubes throw into freezer bags. Be quick cutting it thaws pretty quick.
I spend about 40 and it lasts me 5 months feeding a 55 fowlr and 90 reef.
If your lucky you will find a pearl in a mussle or clam.

Any questions just ask.
