Hey,

So I recently noticed my male lyretail anthia never closes his mouth. Just swims around with it wide open. Is this a sign of a disease? Looks like he might be breathing heavily as well?

Is he new? I've seen chromis & anthias do this. When I perform the necropsy, I usually discover uronema growing over the internal organs.

Nope, Was one of my first fish added back in May. Was originally a female and has since changed. Ugh I hope it’s not uronema. No other fish are acting strange.

My QT currently is full and at therapeutic levels of copper with a golden Midas and 2 female bellus angels. Should I add meds to the DT food?

Highly unlikely to be uronema then. Could he have gotten stung by a coral he nipped at/near or possibly a bristle worm?

No corals yet and I havent seen any Bristol worms. He was the most aggressive fish I had till I added my kole tang. I never see the kole tang being aggressive towards other fish. Just loves to fly around the tank.

I've had my male anthias several months, last week started apparent mating with my blue reef chromis, which except for its blue color, shape identical to the anthias. For past few days the anthias has been swimming around with its mouth wide open, not gulping, not at water surface, and not eating. Any ideas?

I recently pulled my clowns and 6 line out of the tank and had to destroy my rocks cape to get them. I noticed my male anthias started doing this too. Not sure if he’s just reasserting his territory with the new rock placement or if he got too stressed by me chasing the other fish. Would Love to know what ended up happening with your guy.
