It's coming!

Tank: Red Sea Reefer 750 XXL
Lights: 3 Radion XR30 G5 + 2 Kessil A360x w
Pumps: 2 Maxspect Gyre XF350 + 2 Neptune WAV (2 MP 40 from previous build on standby)
Return: Neptune Cor 20 + using a Reef Octopus Varios for mixing water
Rock: LifeRock Coral Trees
Brains: Apex + DOS + DDR + Trident
Heaters: Ink bird + 2 titanium BRS heaters
Skimmer: Elite 150-INT 6" Reef Octopus
Salt: Red Sea Coral Pro - will probably change to tropic marin pro when I get my mixing station setup and automated. I will be storing large amounts of water for several weeks.
Controller Board: Adaptive Reef Neptune control board
ATO: Tunze Osmolator

Here's the story. I picked up a used Marineland 300 gallon. Set it up. Ran it for 3 months before it sprang a leak. I was devastated and decided to stay away from the hobby. Well, that didn't last long. Before you knew it, I was looking at a new build. Fortunately for me, i have a very loving wife who supported me through the entire crash. She never let me definitively state that I was out of the hobby for good.

So here we are a few months later. I've got most of everything that I need on order. I put together a cart with BRS and took that to my LFS. I gave him my business and he gave me great deals.

The planning phase is coming along nicely. All I can say is that I am in a good place in life. Recently graduated law school, passed the bar the first time up, landed a great job, and having our last child. I am blessed and couldn't be happier.

Thanks for reading.

Welp. Tank is at my house. . . . .

With a chipped corner. LFS is already contacting the vendor for me. This is a $12k build. Not going to settle for anything but flawless.

dang! That stinks but kudos to you for not getting too excited and moving forward!
When you're in so much money, been married as long as I have, and its not your first tank, its easy to say no to less than stellar. Ya it sucks. But in the long run, it'll work out for the best.

Had several goodies dropped off by the guys from my LFS. More to come. New tank is on its way. It’s getting sent directly to me from Res Sea then the LFS guys will come and put it all together.

That is going to be a sweet setup. So much water, do you have a mixing station setup?

Still no update on the new, non-chipped, tank. I've got several more packages coming in from BRS. One of the items coming in at my LFS is the Coral Tree DIY rock kit. I purchased a Reef Tree and Coral Tree kit. I received the Reef Tree, which is currently setting with the epoxy. I think I'm going to reach out and ask the distributor to send another Reef Tree is the Coral Tree is backordered.

I'll post a picture tonight of the Reef Tree aquascape. Just know that this is only half, maybe only 1/3.

Checked in with my LFS yesterday. He said he would contact his distributor for the tank. Still no update. This is kind of getting frustrating. I was able to order the tank on a Friday and it was at the store on Monday. However, when it comes to replacing the chipped tank, now they want to drag their feet? Just doesn't make sense for the consumer.

As for the other tree, LFS told me it arrived. I'll drive by and pick it up so I can start playing around with the aquascape. I think I'll glue these together and start cycling them in a separate bin.

If I had to guess, I would say some finger pointing is occurring. When you look at how that tank is packaged, your LFS might be getting blamed for the chip. If you paid with a credit card, you may want to get the CC involved. Money is a great motivator.

I paid with a personal check. LFS owner is a good guy. I’ll have faith in him. I’m an attorney so not really worried about the legal route. We can cross that bridge if and when it comes. For now, I’ll leave it in the LFS hands.

I aquascaped the reef tree together. Used epoxy to hold it together. Oddly, the coral tree came preassembled. I don’t think that’s what I ordered. It was supposed to be modular like the reef tree. I’ll check it out and if I like it then I’ll keep it.
I wanted a minimalistic aquascape with only two islands. I’m starting to think I may need a third, focusing on habitats for fish in the third. Admittedly, I feel that $500 in rock should have gotten me more than this. This stuff is expensive.

Here are some photos. Hope you all like it.
