Does anyone here know how to ID a mantis? My fiancee and I picked up a Mantis from our LFS a week ago and with a few hundred different types and subspecies of mantis we havent been able to figure out what she is. But we do know shes a female. When we got her she had laid an egg sack that later died. She had done this one other time in the 4mths that the LFS had her. I'm close friends with the manager and we've been trying to figure out what she is but we havent gotten very much at all. The only reason my LFS doesnt know what she is, is because they got her when someone left her in a plastic bag on in front of their door overnight. They had her for 4mths before we finally bought her. When I get home I'll be able to post some pictures of her, but I figured it would just leave a quick description.

Her whole body is black, and when she lifts up the bottom of her body is a green/bluish colour.

Part of the reason we want to ID her is because we want to get her a Male to fertilize her eggs the next time she lays.

Thanks for any help in advance
