Sounds like it’s stressed, or about to molt. Some won’t eat for a week prior to a molt. How are you housing it?

Turn out the lights, don’t do big water changes an give it somewhere it feels like it’s safe and hiding, usually for a smasher a small PVC pipe, not super big for a small guy like that.
Nothing elaborate. Just don't have any other tanks. So it's in a decent sized tupperware with a pvc elbow in there which he kinda cuddles against. Change out some water every couple of days. Will see how the shrimp goes.

What’s your long term plan? I don’t see the shrimp living that long in these conditions.

So I came back from a long Memorial Day weekend and my little mantis buddy is gone. I sumped him as I didn't think he'd survive for long in the tupperware. Only thing I can think of is that he mighta got sucked into the return pump and sent back into the tank-or ground up into shrimp salad. Will continue to keep an eye out for him.
In any case, I also ordered more live rock from KP and as I was opening one of the boxes yesterday, I got another mantis. This one was at the bottom of the bag. This one is much bigger and appears to be black-a good 3". Will take some pics and post later.
