Did a quick look through all the species on the list and I think it’s one of these two: https://ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthropod...ostraca/royslist/species.php?name=o_cultrifer

https://ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthropod...ostraca/royslist/species.php?name=o_japonicus if it’s the japonicus, I’m jelly!

edit: no it’s more like the first one now that I look again
Maybe it’s time to be jelly! Found this YouTube video of an Odontodactylus japonicus and it’s exactly like the one I have. Their ID could be wrong as well though.

Beautiful guy. Even with the funky eye. Glad you came to a resolution. I think 50% is fair as it looks good otherwise. Maybe just put a pvc board/acrylic board down on the bottom of the tank to avoid it hitting the glass. Definitely make some pvc tunnels for it too. Maybe extra sand and rock will help.
Good luck. Such cool animals.

I am in the process of building a more permanent housing situation. It’s a 20H. I’m putting an under gravel filter under 2” PVC tunnel with 40lbs. of rock rubble covering all of it. I’ll run the under gravel filter in reverse to keep detritus from building up under the rubble. UGF arrived yesterday and tank lid is delivering today (2nd try since first arrived broken). Now I’m deciding on the amount of flow I want to push through the UGF so I can order pumps. I’ve already got a wet dry filter that I plan to use and also an extra HOB overflow.
Here’s a couple picks. I’ll have to pull the rubble out to put the UGF down but it’s almost there.
