I had a weird thing happen today, the wrasse that I have been qt’ing was ready to go to the big tank today. So I get him in there and out of nowhere comes like a 2.5-3” mantis, never saw it before. I will make a bottle trap tonight and try and get him.
My question is will he harm the wrasse? Is there any other ways of removal?

Where is your rock from? If it's Florida live rock like TBS or KP Aquatics I wouldn't be surprised if you had a big wennerae. They're super fun to have and can even be kept with fish.

+++++ on pictures!!!
Someday, I really want to get a macro tank going with a mantis. They are just beautiful to watch. Definitely won't have other fish in there though...

We have a 3” mantis shrimp and it goes after and kills small feeder fish. Good thing you got it out before it got your fish.

Did you ever post a photo of the old one? As Hadla mentioned, some of us would be willing to re-home him.

I have a never-ending supply of Dog whelk snails 1/2 mile away that could use some grooming. lol

Even if it is cold, I can send you a styrofoam box and heat pack for you to send back. I had gotten them for someone else to send me a mantis but it fell through.
