You should! You're definitely one of the ones I was hoping to see nominated. Always helpful and friendly.

I'll nominate @i cant think! I don't know if non-USAvians can win (and not sure he's 18 yet) but showing age isn't always required for wisdom is there a person who knows more about fish??

I lied yesterday about no more nominations. I wanna see a ton of participation this month so I'll be nominating a few more people every couple of days until @Daniel@R2R , @revhtree , or @ESHOPPS.INC tells me to stop.

My next nomination is @Stang67!

If you haven't met my friend Stan (that's not really her name) then you need to! She and I met on a LiveSale here on Reef2Reef. I tricked her on one of the famous @CodyBot games and made her lose. We've been friends ever since!

She is kind and giving. Besides reef keeping, she also raises honey bees and has blessed many of us with honey from those hives. She has an amazing heart and an amazing reef tank. I am happy to call her my friend.

I nominate @Slocke. He’s always been extremely helpful when it comes to information on wrasses and other fish. His knowledge that he brings to the hobby is impressive, and he does have a great tank.
Another of the ones I wanted to see nominated!

I don't know that he'll accept the nomination but I want to nominate Frank @fishguy242 !

Frank is an amazing community member of Reef2Reef. He is always doing his part to help other members on Reef2Reef and in his community outside of this forum. He has freely given advice, knowledge, and even equipment and livestock to many in the community. I happened upon Frank's build thread. He immediately welcomed me into the group. Frank takes the time frequently to go and check to make sure that there aren't any posts in the unanswered threads page and either provide an answer, bump the thread to the top, or help call experts or someone that should be able to help answer their questions.

Frank is such a great asset to our community and I want to see him as our second Mariner of the Month!
You do realize this nomination, if accepted, will push back your inevitable win back at least a month? :face-with-tears-of-joy:

I'm hoping it does! I want to see all the true Mariners win and if it means I don't ever win, then good!

I'm pretty sure shameless selflessness isn’t listed in the requirementsfor MOTM. Saying that of all the entries so far you definitely have my vote ;)

Especially since I'm technically the only entry so far...

Love seeing all of these nominations! Just a reminder that for your nomination to be included in the voting thread, it does need to meet the requirements in the first post:
  • Tag the individual you would like to nominate.
  • Share a nomination statement of at least 5 sentences, explaining why this person deserves to be considered. (Your statement will serve as an endorsement in the final voting thread.)
  • Nominees must accept the nomination and complete the entry requirements in this thread to be considered as a Mariner of the Month finalist.

Regarding nominations, make note as this part is very important also:
  • Nominees must accept the nomination and complete the entry requirements in this thread to be considered as a Mariner of the Month finalist.
If the nominated person does not accept and post their entries, those nominations will remain just a nomination. Thank you everyone!

Now that Frank has been nominated, I have to enter myself because I'd love to one day be a Mariner of the Month.

FB_IMG_1620005569450.jpg

I'm in the green - I took third place out of 10 or 12 in our little archery competition

Here's my tank! ESHOPPS Mariner 70 Mixed Reef lit by 2 Noopsyche K7 V3

Describe My Dream Aquarium:

My dream aquarium is probably a 300-500 tank peninsula style with islands, shelves, trees, and caves throughout. I want LOTs of color and movement from wrasses, anthias, and tangs. I'd add torches and hammers waving in the flow plus Montiporas, Zoas, Ricordeas, and more! I'd need Duncans for sure and Micro Lords and Bowerbankis in all different colors. I'd add some sticks - Stylophoras, Digitatas, Anacroporas, and Acropora. I'd add Cyphastrea and Styloconiella plus Leptos, Pavonas, and Lithophyllons for Encrusters. And Chalices, definitely Chalices! I'd add Springeri Damsels and Springeri Dottyback for the beautiful blues and a small harem of Clownfish to draw blood during maintenance.

My dream tank is basically a lot larger version of my current tank but with more fish and adding some Euphyllia.

Now that Frank has been nominated, I have to enter myself because I'd love to one day be a Mariner of the Month.

So, one run-on question doesn't count…

I think we all know that Aaron is the true wrasse expert on this forum. However he actually knows far more then just wrasse. Wrasse, tilefish, weird deep-sea anthias, if this fish is in the hobby this young guy knows it and knows how to take care of it. For example, he's the one who educated me on why some gobies are easy and some probably shouldn't be kept (see https://www.reef2reef.com/ams/sand-sifting-gobies-true-vs-false…-what’s-the-difference.871/) and the one who taught me to hate yellow “coris” wrasse. To put it in short I wouldn't be the pedantic troublemaker I am without him and whenever I give advice know that there is a good 75% chance I am parroting him. (just don't tell the mods… I don't want to lose my excellence award)
