The fish are thinking- 'soo much room for activities'

LOL! Next thing you know, the rocks will be arranged differently and they will be falling on one of the fish!

As long as they have about 2 inches or more to bury in, that should be enough.... though I'm not sure how you would manage to have sand on only one side of the tank? What's the plan there? I'm super curious now
In thinking about making a rock bowl kind of like how people make back walls for aquariums...using egg crate amd spray foam and such....amd making it a decent size where the sand would sit in....yes it would still go out of the holding spot but most would at least stay around the area.

Well, I got off my tush today and finished breaking down the 75 gallon. Rescued two snails from the sand.. I really thought there were more nassarius snails, but they must have bit the dust. I did find a baby though! I managed to rescue my three feather dusters as well... they are the small ones that live in the sand and one of them is red and white striped! OH!! And Richard rescued my fire shrimp from the tote that was holding all the live rock that was slated to be taken to the store with me. It was just sitting in the tote with some old, nasty water. I was like "Well put him in the tank then!! Jeeze.... had to call me and ask. Anyway, he's the hero of the day for that one for sure.

So, now we have a nice clean space there instead of the tank and I can begin the redecorating in the living room!

Oh and you wonder how my walls look so good after having a tank there? I used this insulation foam board and set it in between the wall and the sump area. This is what it looked like when we moved the stand and sump away from the wall.

Yeah that's pretty gross! Saved my walls from a nasty mess.

Tank looks fantastic! So much room for your fish and corals! Congrats on finally finishing the most difficult part. Now I am patiently waiting to see how you plumbed everything to include the water mixing station! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Great way to start the New Year!!!

Thanks Cristy and back at ya! I'm patiently waiting too. I'm going to get some work done on the mixing station tonight. Sadly, I need some help with it, so it has had to wait until my husband has a night off.... which he does tonight and tomorrow! Yay! Hoping to get a lot done the next two days.

Well my tank nitrites have dropped to 0 finally! Nitrates are like 5 ppm if that....
Sounds like you're ready! Yay!!
How is everything settling in?

All the fish seem to be very happy to have all the extra space. No losses yet either (knocks on wood). The tangs especially are taking advantage of all the room :)

That is odd.... I don't see any tangs taking advantage of the extra space. It is almost like you haven't posted pictures so it hasn't happened! :p

I'll get right on it! I've been painting the living room and hallway today. Just a bit out of touch. I might even manage a video for you guys

I'm cleaning the glass almost every day...it's a light green film algae

That sounds normal. New tanks go through the "uglies" and having that light dusty green algae on the glass is normal.
