FISH and FINANCES!!! Just got my first Kessil A360X yesterday. I have 3 more to go! There it is above my tank with the dreaded and despised, house burning Mars Aqua and Viparspectra.
With Christmas and my birthday just around the corner and a very giving and reef supporting family, that lonely hockey puck will soon be lonely no more.
1. Fellow Kessil owners. How are you liking your A360X?

AND:

2. Are birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions a happy time for your reef? :D

I won one at a frag swap recently. Not a big fan of the look personally, but since it was just the cost of some raffle tickets I wont complain!
Congrats! Do you have a single 24”x 24” spot for it? Or you buying more?

Love my A360's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don'y need to be a computer programer, and rely on some piece of junk controller. Just turn a couple of knobs, set it and forget it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine is currently being used at the edge of a frag tank that was not well lit from main lights. I may end up using it on my 60g cube and replacing the 10 year old black box on it now

For the cost, there is a lot better out there. I ran an A360X for 6-7 months and never loved it. Way too spotlight and serious shadowing problems. I'd much rather have the G5 Radion for the same cost.

I had a Reefbreeder fixture for a few years and very happy with it. Decided to “go for it” with 4 360x’s over my 115 gal 60” long mixed reef and WOW! Very glad I did. The Reefbreeder was good, but my SPS really took off using the app and a good par meter.
Everything looks better than ever and I’ve been able to hone in on separate areas for the different needs of my corals.
Yeah, they’re not cheap (although I got a pretty good deal) but

I don’t regret the change. It was Kessil or EcoTech, I just got a better deal with Kessil. Made my own mount for a fraction of the cost of Kessil’s. Pretty easy and gave me a lot of satisfaction.

I don’t recall seeing the ‘house burning’ stories… were they here on R2R?
Hi Albano, Not that I know of. But a few years back, I was interested in getting a few of the “Black Boxes” and as I researched, I heard some online some well known that they heard that these lights have been known to catch on fire. China’s standards, both quality and ethically leave a lot to be desired. I personally just dismissed that “catching on fire” theme as half of the things in our house are Made in China. I’ve had good luck with those lights. Grew corals amazingly.

Ya just to clarify i dont like the look they give the tank so much, but that is really personal preference. The coral i have under them has done very well(both color and growth) though i cant complain at all about the performance.

Nice setup! Nice mount! My tank is 72” long, I hope four is enough.

Love the kessils. Have 2 on a 48”” tank along with a reefbrite xho actinic and the corals have thrived. From acros to euphyllia they all seem to be growing well. Love the shimmer and the look of the tank. I think you’ll love yours.

I think four will be just fine For a 72”. I only wanted to get three, but with my center glass brace, I didn’t think mounting one right over in the middle would be good. I only have the inner two at 50% intensity, the outer two at 20%.
Another thing I liked was the low mounting height. Works great for my low profile hood.
