found this in my tank after the water cleared. I am cycling a new tank , should I dispose of all the sand, or will the water be safe?

If it is magnetic, then passing a magnet through it might take most of it out.

Yes it was weakly magnetic ...just wanted to know if I needed to ditch the sand and water...maybe run a polyfilter?

I’d remove the solids by magnet and still likely use it. A polyfilter or other metal binder may be useful.

It certainly is disappointing. It's not like you scooped sand from a beach and then get what you get. You shouldn't have metal like this in a commercial product.
