Carrot goes nuts when she sees me slicing a pear or apple. She loooove them. Peas was the same way with grapes.

Blueberry LOVES Strawberries and Remy likes Honey Dew Melons. Not a fan of apples or bananas. Also like playing with cilantro and spinach.

Not yet.

I think I’ll never have the guts to go that high. High phosphates scare me for no logical reason.
I'm blaming the phosphates on the vacation reaper.

She used to! After she went on her big adventure to NY, though, she stopped doing a lot of her "baby" things.
Aww. I hope Cheese doesn’t grow out of his baby stage. :smiling-face-with-tear:

How did you find out Carrot is a female?

All 3 of my birds had DNA (blood draw) gender testing.
Plus, Peas and Carrot were not discreet with their... quiet time....

Genetic testing not necessary. Any chance they’d make a viable egg?

They absolutely could have.
That mixture is called a sun-cheek.
If he comes home, we'll find out...

After doing a little more research on the topic, the answer is yes.
They could make a viable egg, however, most hybrids like that will almost always have defects and a very short (1-3 yrs) lifespan, if they even live that long.
The suncheek, is actually a genetic mutation, similar to the pineapple conure. It is just a different, and beautiful, genetic variation.
So, there we go! We all learned something new today.

So many people are so misinformed about "baby" birds over rescued ones needing homes too. It's really really sad. There are so many that have so much love to give too.
Yes, hybrid species of any birds is also not good. It's sad what man has done to these creatures. Entitlement mentality in today's society.

Off my soap box.

All caught up now :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes: No birds here, to many cats that were feral before we rescued them.

I will say that you guy have some beautiful birds.
