My favorite fish in the tank:

Top of the list: tangs. All of them. I look at them the most. I think my favorite is the orange shoulder tang. He has the cutest face! Naso with the red lips is a very close second!

Then the anthias and chromis

Finally the mandarin and Firefish.

I love all my fish, but these are what I pay attention to the most. :)

The transition continues! Turning darker with some black spots.

From far, this anthias already has some red tone and stands out compared to the females. I can get a grasp at how he’ll look like. Anthias are so beautiful. I can’t believe I have them and they’re doing so well after all these years!

Ps, ignore my super long and skinny fingers from the reflection. People tend to notice my fingers in real life…I definitely got it from my mom lol.

Currently?

I HAD 39 (including the 10 lyretail anthias I purchased pre QT from TSM)

But that purchase was a colossal FAIL! One was DOA and one by one they dropped like flies! A few arrived with bacterial infections and ripped tails in the bag. And cloudy/Popeyes. It developed pretty bad and got ugly as the days went on.

I had to pick them off the powerhead one by one within a week or 2.

Out of the 10 I purchased only 2 survived.

They were pre QT’d and I don’t have any deadly parasite in my tank. I already had lyretail anthias and chromis that were and still are doing very well in the tank.

So…we now have a total of…

32 fish.

I fed my tank multiple times a day, so I don’t feel guilty about the anthias dying because I believe it was out of my control (I could have put them in a QT and treat them in antibiotics, but hindsight is 20/20 and it was my first time buying preqt anthias. “Why would I buy pre quarantined fish to quarantine them myself?”, I thought).

And no, I didn’t get a refund. Only got store credit for the DOA, but TSM doesn’t cover any losses after opening the bag.

Sucks.

Wow. sorry to hear about that. I didn't know you had such bad luck on your first go the the anthias. I totally understand the whole no QT pre-QT fish!
I believe there is a learning curve with anthias and chromis.

Next time I ever buy an anthias I am QTing. I don’t care where it came from, pre QT or not. They are so sensitive.
