That olivasceus is changing quickly I see :)
Need a photo of him now he’s almost totally grey!
He changes colors often. In that photo, I abruptly turned on the T5 during his night-time, so he was gray, but when he’s normal, he changes back to yellow.

He’s a weird fish.

guess that's the last time he shares his name!
heh . like im telling my real name ;D
I felt comfortable sharing my name because there are people with worse names.

Like, who would name their child “Projects?” Sounds ridiculous to me.

Baruch is an awesome name, because it's yours :face-blowing-a-kiss:

(but I agree... Projects is terrible!)

Update photos. I am working on my photography. Every time I use the camera, I get a little better.

Not yet. I need to improve camera skills and my corals need to be bigger
Those chromis look fantastic.
Thank you! I still have all 12. They didn’t kill each other off yet.
I think that in a few weeks time you can surely contend for POTM :)
Hopefully!
Stunning!
Thanks!

And thank you everyone for your kind words!

Oooh,

Mantis vs Miami: Round 2!

I just heard some clicking. The first mantis shrimp got caught on the RIGHT side of the tank.

The rock fiasco I had yesterday with the mantis shrimp (failed attempt at removing it with the rock) was on the LEFT side. I heard clicking on the left side which means that there’s more to be caught, AND that vermin from yesterday is still in the tank. The mantis that’s left is likely the one that killed most of my skunk cleaners since it resides in the skunk’s resting spots.

Trap is in place. I’m so fricking excited. Who knew I’d love catching mantis shrimps with traps. I’ll keep ya’ll updated.

Phosphates bottomed to 0.00ppm, so I dosed 0.05ppm. I am not going to feed the fish today to encourage the mantis shrimp to seek out food.

Excited!!! :D
Did you end up catching the second one? I am still having a heck of a hard time catching 1 :( . What did you use in the bottle just raw shrimp?

Good question.

First, no. The trap only worked for one.

Second, I’m not sure if I have mantis shrimp or pistol shrimp. I hear snapping on the daily. I like it. I think it adds another sensory to the tank for me (sight, touch, and now hear).

I recently purchased 4 cleaner shrimp. I definitely still have at least one from what I can see. I haven’t seen any dead on the powerhead. I have a hawkfish and a melanurus wrasse, so anything’s game at this point.

I used LRS Frozen food for my successful attempt. I recommend not feeding the tank for 2 days before putting up the trap. If you are sure you know where the shrimp is, I think you can do it!

Out of luck I just caught him took me a whole 5min, this time he decided to be more out in the open and just put some LRS in a net and he came right on in.
