If You Have Never Been to a Frag Swap Before Check out this Video from a previous swap to get an idea of all the fun that you will have

Vendors from around the country come to sell coral (much of which are the amazing corals that you see online not the bland common stuff that you see at your LFS - Local Fish Store).

It is also a great way to meet old friends and make new friends that are in the hobby.

You will find the hottest Zoanthids, Acros, Acans, Chalices, etc. all at great prices!

MCES is the Largest Reefing Event in Michigan...Now in its 11th Year! The Event is Hosted by Two Clubs...The Mid-Michigan Marine Club and the Grand Rapids Marine Aquarium Society. Both Clubs are Busy Making Preparations and Working on Speakers and the Raffle to Make it Even Better This Year. Last Year, MCES Brought Together Over 950 Hobbyists from around the State and the Midwest with 50 Vendors from Across the Country. If You are a Reef Keeper in the Midwest, You Do Not Want to Miss This Event! And It Only Happens Once a Year.

Admission is $10 Per Person (Kids under 16 are Free)

The Tentative Itinerary for the 2017 Michigan Coral Expo & Frag Swap is as Follows (Raffle Times to be Announced):
10:00: Admission for Morning Speaker Session
10:30-11:30: Morning Speaker Session
11:30-12:00: Early Exhibition Hall Admission for Morning Speaker Attendees
12:00: Doors Open to Exhibition Hall for General Admission
4:30: End

A Few Frag Swap Tips for Both Newbies and Veterans

1. Don't Forget Cash. Some Vendors will Take Credit Cards, but Others are Cash Only.
2. Bring a Small Portable Cooler to Store the Corals that Bought In.
3. Admission is $10, Kids are FREE. Having the Exact Amount Helps Things Go Smoother at the Entrance.
4. Large Baby Carriages and Coolers with Wheels are Discouraged. The Hall is Filled with People and Those Large Items Make Traffic Flow Difficult.
5. Doors Open at 12:00
6. Morning Speaker (Austin Lefevre) Starts at 10:30. Arrive Early for a Seat.
7. Raffles are at 1:45 and 3:30. Everyone Gets 10 FREE Tickets (Valued at $1 Each) with each Paid Admission (So Basically You Get in For FREE !!!!).
8. Be Aware of How Much Time You Take Talking to a Vendor if what Your Discussing Doesn't Involve Buying Something . Vendors are Very Helpful and Knowledgeable and Most Will Try to Help You, but Please be Conscious of the Fact that Vendors are There to Sell and Not to Explain How to Rid Your Tank of Nuisance Algae (For Example).
