There are a few profiles for the AI that work well. I will find the link. I think it’s easier to use profiles that work and take out the guessing and trial and error of setting them yourself.

I'm mostly mimicking the profile that I got off of AI, but with less up/downs and a decrease in overall intensities.

Congrats on the new tank and oh my you have it bad... just like the rest of us.

And yes I marveled at the snow today here in Michigan. I think I will make it to the brownstown swap. I went to the Ann Arbor one and regretted not purchasing a gold torch that was amazing!

Never been to a frag swap before, but Brownstown is 2.5 hours away and i've been debating making the drive or not on Sunday. I've got a pretty good supplier guy in Grand Rapids that has what I consider reasonable prices. I'm interested in hearing what your experiences are in terms of pricing at these frag swaps to gauge whether or not the trip is worth it for me and the wife.

I have too much room in my tank, and that's part of why i'm thinking of going to the swap, to fill in with some frags at good prices. But the local guy is also getting in a new shipment of corals next week!

PM if you have any feedback for me about frag swaps!

What size tank are you running Karen's on? I found my corals weren't too happy with such high numbers, so that's why I kind of threw together what I did. I looked and didn't see a build thread for you, you should start one!
With your tank I would turn it down, the light is too close and very strong, but the como and time changes have been great for my tank. I use the same setting on my 65 display. I still have my led 32 biocube running but it’s all stock and I’ve been very happy with it.

I sent a pm. A great way to populate the tank is from a swap. Do you have a QT or just thinking of putting them right in..

Nice work! and really looking good ...GR has really turned into a Fun Hipsters destination, Breweries ect. I lived in BR for a few years and still vacation on the west side, just sold acreage in Greenville last year due to the outbreak, so it's back to lake city and reed city for the Fall migration.

Yeah GR is great, i'm originally from Jackson, but moved to the west side to go to Grand Valley State University, and stayed over here. The housing market here is insane!

I don't have a QT, but I have been dipping everything in a Bayer mix before placing in my tank.

Went to a frag swap

Since my last update i've added two emerald crabs to combat this purple fluffy algae that i've got, along with two hermit crabs.

My phosphates are bottoming out at zero, so I have bought this AquaVitro Activate potassium phosphate for dosing.

Got an awesome Squamosa for my sand bed from the frag swap. Can you believe this guy was only $40?

Made some changes to my tank...

Moved it from the bar top to it's own stand. Using the Ikea Alex cabinet. I have the top two drawers built as usual, the third drawer with half of the bottom panel and no back, with the bottom 2 drawers being only the sides with the sliders and the front face.

Drawer one will be testing supplies

Drawer two will be feeding supplies

Drawer 3 will be my reefkeeper lite net with two pb4s and the display.

Behind the half cut out drawer 3 is three BRS 1.1ml/min dosing pumps. 1 for ALK, 1 for Calcium and the third for ATO.

Behind the bottom two drawer faces will be three 1 gallon jugs for the appropriate liquids (ALK, CA and ATO)

While moving the tank to the new stand, the wife and I pulled off the giant chunk of rock on the back side. This makes the tank look and feel much more full with coral, and gives our new addition some extra space to swim.

We picked up a red firefish from one of our lfs and got it in the tank last night. She's still shy and hiding in the rock work, but when I fed this morning she came out shortly to grab a few pieces.

I have taken chaeto out of the sump for now since nutrients have been at 0. I'm anticipating starting the chaeto back up in the bottom portion of my diy media rack in the future.

I have dosed nitrates and phosphates twice over the last 3 days to keep levels slightly detectable.

Thank you!

I got a clam from Live Aquaria around 7 months ago and it didn't make it 2 days, since then i've been keeping my eye open for one that peaked my interest and that looked healthy. I got this guy for $40 [would have paid $140] at a frag swap from Cherry Corals. It's very, very responsive to light changes and it has been opening up more and more every day [been 3 days so far]

I joke with my wife that we might not need to use carbon for water clarity with the clam in the tank!

I'm excited to get a few more SPS frags in there, and just let it grow out.

What is it about Clowns and that back wall? The one pic with your clown hanging out vertical by the overflow reminds me of my clown, he likes hanging out the same way in that exact spot...

Haha yeah, those dummies swim out and about during the day, but then hang out on the back wall swimming/sleeping sideways... I got them the BTA too but no luck. A local guy has some Occelaris that are in a tank full of BTA and are hosting, so I may trade them in for a new pair. Undecided as of now whether we want to part with them or not.

Tank looks great now and like it will mature beautifully!

Thanks! It looks a lot more full than when we had the big chunk on the bottom back of the rockwork!

I took a short video of the tank before I moved it, and i'll take another short video tonight if I remember:

Had some cyano, even with high flow in the tank, it was covering the sand on one side, and bothering the zoas on the other side. The zoas are also "cupping" and i'm not sure why. The SPS hasn't showed any polyp extension in about 1 week, and the clam hasn't opened fully yet.

I have dosed stump remover [Nitrate] and AquaVitro Phosphate to increase nutrient levels, along with removing the refugium for now.

I've been feeding frozen mixed with reef chili and Fuel heavily [2 times per day] for my 3 fish

My first SPS has seemed to regained it's color, but it hasn't shown any PE [even at night] since what I believe to have been an ALK spike [March 26, 2018] due to using kalk in my ATO. I have seen very very little green PE a couple of times, but nothing substantial or for very long.

I have also since added some more SPS [4/14/18] to my tank, and all of the new corals are showing a lot of PE

Parameters:

4/15/18
CA 410
ALK 8.8-9.2
Phosphate 0.02
Nitrate 2-5
Temp sits from 78.5-79
Mag is typically around 1350

I have a Sicce 1.0 return with two nozzles on it, along with a hydor 425 in a 10 gallon tank [excluding sump volume]

SPS are under AI Prime HD+

set to:
upload_2018-4-16_15-39-23.png

Currently in a 4 week acclimation mode from 77% of max values [above - current] to 100% on May 17th.

Here's a full view of my lighting schedule

Nice tank. Nice job put that cabinet together with the control, ato and dosing. West side frag swap on May 6th maybe see you there.
