One more update guys. Just measured my PH, it is at 7.8. Prior to vacation it was constantly around 8.5-8.6 range. Do you think that could have caused the issue? I assume since all windows were closed for 20 days, that may have contributed to Ph drop?

It’s weird your phos dropped by a factor of 6x but your nitrates went up.

I would hands down say the issue is the pH drop coupled with ALK drop. If no one was in your house, there wouldn’t be a high CO2 source to where closed windows would be an issue, so doesn’t seem like that would cause your pH drop.

I do believe I’ve read that nitrate is more acidic and that can lower your pH, but doesn’t seem like your nitrates got high enough to affect it that much.

Rented a PAR meter for a week from @Bulk Reef Supply . Dont know why it took me so long! If you haven't done it, highly recommend. I went ahead and measured/documented PAR at various AI Hydra 26HD settings (got 3 of them). AB+; all blues maxed, whites at 15% to 0%,etc. just wanted to have all measured for future reference. This particular pic is from my current AI settings: G and DR at 5%, CW 15% and everything else is maxed out (over 100%).

Note the TSA ultra bubble tip anemone, loves baking at 600 PAR.

Nice! If you would like, add this info to the R2R Par Database

I like it. Very intuitive, simple UI. I got 18 pieces of equipment plugged into 3 eK Powers. The app allows easy control, I have setup a few rules and automations. Mixed results with the probes, partially due to sponges etc growing on them I am sure, but it appears thats a universal problem with the probes, not just eKoral. In summary, I am happy with the controller, power strips, water level optics sensor + ATO mini pump. Allows me to fully automate. The real test was a month ago when we were on vacation overseas for 21 days. I documented the experience earlier in the build thread. EKoral did its part.

Holy cow, I just realized, I joined R2R exactly 1 year ago!

Anyway, piece of advice for those using eKoral controller and eK Power strips. When the wifi is lost or the app can’t connect to the eKoral controller, it may be difficult to identify which piece of equipment is plugged into each eK Power socket. Especially, in case of emergency when you don’t even have time to look this up through the app. So, I screenshot each eK Power layout from eKoral app, resized, combined all 3 and turned into a small size trifold that I keep in my cabinet with all power strips. Will make it easier if I want to physically unplug a particular item without doing so through the app or trying to look up whats behind each one.

And, I guess my lawnmower blenny didn’t get the memo that these barnacles are for barnacle blennies. Good thing I have enough of them to host the whole gang.

the is great, same tank and lights, thanks for posting

In case if it helps, here are the PAR readings for AB+ That BRS put together for AI Hydra 26HDs. Again, I have 3 of them on my Reefer 250, instead of stock 2. Also, I should have mentioned, I have LED diffusers, so the values are reflective of slight PAR sacrifice. For “no diffusers” setup, PAR should be about 10% higher.

Here is the AB+ setup plus the PAR reading for it.

Great build, love all the equipment stuffed into that tiny cabinet (I know how tiny it is b/c I too had a RSR250). You have a great build going, keep up the good work!

@Butuz Wow that anemone at the top is baking at 600 PAR. Can't believe it !!! Come to think of it they're a fairly shallow water creature and get caught in tide pools regularly where they can survive the blazing sun !!!

Thanks for this. What value does the UV provide? Haven't been able to find the details on it.

Thx!

I seem to be challenged on replying.
