Hey Guys

I have been treating my 125G reef tank with fluconazole trying to beat bryopsy and it is working. 14 days treatment.
now, on the 10th day, cyanos are starting to show up. I was wondering if there would be a problem to start ciano treatment with red slime, even with fluconazole in the system. or is it better to complete fluconazole treatment, remove it from the system and then start redslime.

tks

Don't use chemiclean or red slime remover unless the tank is absolutely smothered in cyano. It is an anti biotic which should be treated just like one prescribed by a doctor. If need be, just wait out the fluconazole since you only have a few days left for that

Just wait… mixing medication is not ideal due to potential effects on oxygen.

Also sometimes it goes gha/bryopsis > cyano > Dino since the chemistry can get all messed up.

Agree with the others. The fewer chemicals added the better. Bryopsis treatment with flucanozole is fine when needed, but most other nuisance algae and bacteria can be managed without adding chemicals- especially antibiotics.

thank you guys for your responses. I decided not to mix treatment as all of you suggested!
