MJ-SK400 Protein Skimmer's water-exit-opening knob is not working. Has been working for about 7 months. Please advise if it can be accessed and fixed or alternatively the entire cover should be replaced.

How do you replace this? I have the same issue and I am not sure how to replace this. Is there instruction or video on this?

Thanks. This is really helpful. The person I contact in US said there is no instruction and I have to pay for my replacement. Which is fine for me, but I didn't want to go in blind and try to figure it out myself and end up ruining the new one. Do it is like a sticker that you pull out from the outside of the skimmer? And the replacement comes with the dial, right?

It's a thin sheet of hard plastic that's glued on the sides with double sided tape. It comes assembled.
To be honest, I fixed mine before I got the replacement part.
The problem with the mechanism is the teeth the gear the dail drives wearing out. I moved the teeth just a little closer to the gear of the dail and carefully super glued it back together.
This is the replacement part:

Thanks. I think that might be what happened to mine. Think I need to take it down and take a look. Thanks again for all the great information.

No problem You'll see the teeth on the original part are not so sturdy as on the replacement if you open it.
Just put a small thin blade between the ribbon and the cone of the skimmer and gently pull it of. The tape should stay in place.
Good luck

I have the exact same issue now. The knob no longer raises or lowers the gate. I hope there is a fix, love this skimmer.
