@HotRocks How long did you have s/he in QT for? What's it eating?

60ish days.
Full 30 days in chelated copper (copper power)
2 doses of API General Cure.
10 days of Metroplex/focus soaked food.
14 day observation.

Mine eats like a pig. It eats my frozen blend of several cubes, and tons of nori!

Also @HotRocks notice any picking at your corals? I see some LPS and buttons in there.

Not yet! I have tons of zoa's, some LPS and softies.

A little off topic, but what do you recommend for a CUC (apart from snails) - do you have urchins? Other threads say they destroy nuisance algae but Coralline too which makes it a challenge to get your initial good coverage going

If the rumours are true, they might be the true heroes of your CUC and do the bulk of the work in the dark. Those slow **** snails then take all the credit. If you youtube Urchin eating Algae, looks like they move pretty fast. Are yours Tuxedo or long spine?

The most beautiful fish ever.... I’m so envious. I lost two mandarins years ago and I had a very established 500 gallon tank. They just wouldn’t eat. So now I stay away from fish like mandarins and MI. Kudos to you both. Enjoy them! So pretty....

I have urchins. I don't know how much cleaning they do though!

I had an urchin eat through the protective plastic part of an electric wire once. It was in my sump so I didn’t find it until it was too late. Either the resulting electrical current or the copper in the wire killed EVERYTHING in a matter of days in a 300 gallon DT. Corals bleached and fish dead. I will never have another. Be careful with urchins!

I’m not going to say I’ve seen a ton of Moorish Idols in captivity, but even amongst those I’ve seen in public aquariums, that is one LONG streamer!!

Glad he’s doing well!!
