The vodka acts as a preservative and the sodium hydroxide helps to completely dissolve the amino acid mix.
so you can store this at a room temperature like Acropower? do you have this on a doser?
This is awesome. Thank you very much. As soon as I run out of my brightwell aminos I’ll try this.I store it a room temperature. I dose by hand, however putting it on a doser is fine.
Given the fact that you are using vodka in this could you class it as a form of carbon dosing. Are you still using the same formula or have you made any further alterations?I’m still having great results from my DIY aminos. My current recipe is 125 mL Vodka, 375 mL RO water, 10 grams amino acid powder, with 1/2 teaspoon sodium hydroxide. It dissolves well and doesn’t grow anything when store at room temperature.
Are you using this daily as some of the more well known brands recommend to do with their AA products? My current recipe is:
100 mL vodka
400 mL R/O water
10 grams of amino acids
1/2 tsp. Sodium Hydroxide (handle powder with care)
It dissolves well and looks shelf stable.
The vodka is a bit of a carbon source, so keep that in mind.
