I had a hitchhiker discosoma shroom, from a frag, that I now have in a couple places in my tank. I was wondering if the larger mottled blue shrooms in the pic are Marbled Discosoma or another disco? Just curious!

The babies of the mottled blue shrooms are also really good about stretching out towards the light. Here is a pic of my other colony.

Did you get live rock from a Caribbean supplier at some point? That looks like Caribbean "umbrella" mushroom (Discosoma neglecta).
I thought it looked like a Discosoma Neglecta. It was a hitchhiker on an interstellar shroom frag. I do have close to 100 pounds of Haitian Lettuce Leaf live rock acquired in 2004. The question about a Caribbean Live Rock supplier was a fantastic guess!

Yes, but then I noticed sometime after posting my response that you stated it was a hitchhiker on a frag, not just a hitchhiker in general.

The main reason I recognized it as possible Discosoma neglecta is that I have a book about Caribbean reef species that had them pictured, and I liked them enough to consider their addition to my reef. My only hesitation that I still hope to answer is whether or not these might eat small fish, such as neon gobies or mandarins.
