I’ve been reading every thread I can find and I’m still not sure if I should go with 2 mp40’s or 2 mp60’s for my new 210. Cost is obviously the only thing stopping me from just getting the 60’s but I want to do it right. My current tank is mostly lps. I’ve read opinions that 40’s aren’t strong enough for sps in a tank this size. I was also thinking I could supplement the 40’s with something on the back wall if I went with them. I’d love to hear what experience others have had with the vortechs in a 6’ tank

MP60 is a significantly better pump .... suppose it ought to be given the $$. 6’ tank is about the max for a pair of 40s. When I moved to 7’ and now 8’ the 60 is really required in my view.

I think you will need 4 40s or 2 60s. Purely an opinion. I have a 4 foot tank (75gallon) and an 8 foot tank (240gallon).
I use 2 40s in one and ordered 2 more 60s today for the second so it will have 4.

I have come to believe that bigger pumps moving more water gently is better than small pumps running 100% stirring the tank with streams of water.

I have two 40s on my 6 foot long tank I thought they were fine until a few years later when the corals have filled in and now restricting the flow across the tank. Looking to pick up a 60 now.
