It could be a few things, Still has a bit of salt water in it, or the water has evaporated but leaving electrical connectivity via the salts. They are very easy to take apart "carefully" rinse with RODI and dry (a few YouTube videos on it) You will need a small flathead driver or pick, #1 Phillips driver and possibly a 2mm or a 3/32 Allen wrench if I remember correctly. As long as the motor windings have not melted and created a short you should be good.
