I am trying to sell the wife on running an abyzz 200. But I might end up doing a dolphin return and using an abyzz for the closed loop. Hard to shell out 3600$ for two pumps at once

Minor update. I did order one abyzz a200 on Black Friday. 380$ off was too good to pass up. I did get the face of the bar done. And I got the countertop rough cut. I have to make braces and figure how I want to secure the seams. Other than that

Sump arrived! 72” is a big sump. Going to work on fixing the one issue I have with the bar tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to lay out the countertops by tomorrow evening. I need to get this small stuff done so I can get to working on the tank.

Made a little progress on some reef related stuff. It’s minor but it’s something. I wired the connectors from the halide sockets to adapt them to the plug from the reef Brite ballast. Also finally hung some doors. And got the bar top prepped for epoxy.

Thanks!
I have a small update. I got the “anchor plate” test fit to the ceiling. It’s a sheet of 3/4” plywood screwed to the ceiling directly above the tank. I will use it to secure the lighting and anything else I have to within the canopy. Doing this allows me to not have to hunt down studs and hope to hit one when I need to secure something. Also it will allow me to mount the canopy to the ceiling so nothing will have to rest on the upper brace of the tank. I will be working on aquascaping soon. So hopefully more fish related stuff happening soon.

And that was pics of the test fit. I have pulled it down to paint The Whole thing with ceiling paint before it gets permanently mounted back up

Finally some fish related update. I got some of the halide pendants hung. Also got a tv mounted above the bar. I have a couple build pics on how I built the aluminum box to hold the reflector.
