A little about myself Here.

Today 1/16/21 I have taken the first step (bought the aquarium). I decided to go rimless with an AIO. This is the tank. The stand for it will be a DIY build. It will take the spot of my 20gal. low tech fw tank. The fw low tech will stay running in the same room.

The penninsula aio tank will be seen from both sides through a window between the kitchen and back porch.

I'm new to saltwater brands. Big fan of the motto "buy once, cry once" it has worked out well for my FW aquascaping goals.

I prioritize equipment purchases in this order:

function>reliability>durability>cost>asthetic.

My equipment list below based on what I like or been reading about. Please share any input, as I am still learning more. I'd like to know what everybody thinks.

Equipment Plan

  • Kessil Ap9x
  • IceCap Gyre 2k flow pump x1
  • Helio ptc 400w(2x200w) heater w/ controller
  • Spectrapure UPLC ATO (out of stock cannot buy yet)
  • Spectrapure maxcap di system add-on for my currently installed dws-pp r.o.
*No plans for automating with an aquarium controller yet until I learn how to balance instabilities manually by recording any dosing needed by the system.*

Water testing supplies, dosing, and treatments

  • Hanna dKH ULP and Ca testers
  • tropic marin bio-actif salt
  • Dr. Tim's one and only
  • Tropic Marin All-for-reef

Thanks for reading, looking forward to reading your thoughts and sharing ideas.

The pump should work
You can always put a gate valve on a pumps exit to reduce flow

Do you have any special reefing upgrades or projects planned coming up?
