Ok
Firstly thanks everyone for your kind words.

Shep The tank was started with colonies. No magic growth potions I'm afraid.

I live in Sydney so no I can't collect myself. I would love to though.
I have done around 300 dives on the Great Barrier Reef. Amazing spot to dive.

Like any new tank i did have nitrate and phosphate problems. I changed around 800g NSW in the first 4 months. Thats how the super fast cycle was managed.
I will explain a little about the system and how it was achieved.
For now i have backed off the water changes and doing around 10% weekly.
Feel free to ask any questions. I am no pioneer. Although this is a new set up it is a successful one. Almost a shame to pull it down.

Large water changes are done through the reservoir. Underneath the house.
I pump water straight to a drain.
I can isolate the reservoir from display tank. To make adjustments in salinity and temp.
I can get up to 260G of NSW delivered cheap. Around 130G is my biggest water change.

This is how I isolate my pellet reactor from the ozone exiting the skimmer.
I don't want oxidising water entering the pellet reactor.
The skimmer also skims 100% from the pellet reactor.

The system has been cruising along at 5ppm nitrate.
I had a second reactor running with phosguard it worked great at reducing my phosphate to 0.
How ever it was limiting my pellet reactor from lowering my nitrates.
Nitrates reduction is done in ratios to phos.
That was all very new to me.
I pulled the little reactor with phosguard off line.
Now my nitrates are at 2ppm
My phosphate are 0
Salifert test.

very cool, thats alot of tangs to keep happy! amazing build! when you say nsw, is that water from the great barrier reef? with the higher trace element levels? i can get nsw here in San Diego but the levels are not ideal for a reef.

Thanks
Natural Sea Water. Sourced from coast of Sydney.
Very far from the reef.
Trace elements are added in the balling light method.
Those tangs can be temperamental. When 8 are schooling and grazing that is a special moment for me.
I am hoping to increase the numbers to 20 in the new tank.
