What brand comes Apex ready?
Dang!!Its the KH Guardian monitor only connects to the apex with a bnc connector
I have it testing every hour right now and in a day it hasn’t drifted more then .1
I set my dosing pumps up for the swings as I stayed up one day and tested every hour with the Hannah but I didn’t think the alk was this steady
So I’m kinda scared it’s not working properly or I messed something up
Don’t have enough Hannah checks (as my reagent is old) under my beltIs it staying inline with the Hanna checker?
There can also be a lot of inaccuracy with hanna alk testers, which I learned through using my Alkatronic. It was consistently reading a full dKH higher than my alkatronic, still not sure why. I checked my alkatronic with reference standards and it was spot on, so was salifert. If you look at my tank log the first 6 months I had my dKH around 8.1-8.4, then it dropped to 7.1-7.4. In reality it was always there though. It really fooled me because it was so consistent and appeared to be very accurate but for some reason the calibration was off.I don't think I would use it to control until I was confident it was working correctly. I would run it for a week with my old dosing scheme letting it sample its minimum 6 times a day. At the end of a week, make sure what the Guardian reads matches your normal sample.
In my opinion there is too much variation in any hobby test kit to accurately read the small changes in alk that occur hourly.
I get that. My Salifert and Redsea test kits read around 1dkh apart. I have no idea which is more accurate. I hope the consistency is enough and try to keep the average of the 2 around 8dkh.Well as of now the guardian is testing 1.2 dkh higher then I was with my Hannah I
@Brew12 it is only monitoring and that’s all I plan to do with it until it can be trusted I have been running it every hour since it was hooked up
Hey personally I don’t care if it’s 7.9 or 8.9 as the number in my opinion doesn’t matter what I care about is that if I test the same water 100 times it comes back as the same numberI get that. My Salifert and Redsea test kits read around 1dkh apart. I have no idea which is more accurate. I hope the consistency is enough and try to keep the average of the 2 around 8dkh.
