Didn’t get a good look at it, I’m guessing it’s some kind of Xanthid crab.. they are bad news hard to catch and potentially toxic.

Moved my scoly to see if I could catch the crab and noticed a small hole in it :mad: GAME ON!!!!!

If that thing has damaged my prize coral I will tie it down and slowly pull each leg off :mad: can’t boil it because it will release its toxins

I hadn't either.. honestly not exactly sure what it is but from what I was able to see it looks similar to the above pictures. The toxin is supposably similar to puffers.

Crazy hitchhiker eh? I think that's the first toxic xanthid I've ever seen hitchhike in.. pretty cool though u gotta admit!

Thank you, it’s so nice to have everything organized and I also labeled all the cords going to the power bars inside cabinet... The crab is pretty cool but I’d like to “ice” it permanently

Bad Crab :mad:.. I’m sure it’s responsible for the hole in my scoly since he seems to have taken up residence under it! Good news is it seems that the damage has almost completely healed since yesterday

Hi Nicholas and welcome to R2R! other than being limited with fish selection I think the 40 breeder dimensions are just about perfect for smaller reef. Any questions please feel free to ask.
