So everything in my tank looks great but my BTA won’t open. It’s been at lest 2 months of prolonged closure and it’s moved once about 2 weeks ago. I have had this BTA for about 6 months and I can’t figure out why this is happening? Any help would be appreciated.

How old is the tank overall? What are your parameters? What lighting do you have? Have you looked to see if it is open after lights out?

If it's been in there 6 months it's eating somehow. Mine tends to do that when bothered by something but doesn't stay closed long.
What’s the possibility that when I got my last couple of frags I did a Bayer dip to them and didn’t rinse them will. I did lose an Emerald Crab and a Cleaner Shrimp, so could it of been that? I noticed the BTA closing more and more after that.

I used a Bayer dip on some coral a few months ago and didn’t rise the coral well, I lost 2 invertebrates. Could it of been the Bayer dip and the BTA is slowly dying?

I would doubt your stock led would be sufficient for a nem.......long term....
They require strong reef lighting.......virtually all their nutritional needs are derived from light.

Your biocube light isn't powerful enough for an anemone. It will die if you don't upgrade lights. 100% it isn't strong enough. If you look at the box it came in, it kinda gives you the par levels.

Google biocube 32 par levels and look at images. At the very top middle, it is 70-80 par. Anemones need MUCH higher, at least 250 par.

Do BTA’s need a higher par then Monties? My Monty twice the size it once was and I got him about a month after. I might rent a par-meter and see what I have around the tank.

if it’s not lighting I am battling Vermited Snails and the stuff coming out of my BTA looks like Vermited Snail webbing?
