Incredible shots.Few shots with the Nikon while quarantined
I am, however i just changed bulb combo. My colors have been good but my growth has been garbage for a while now. Im currently running 1 Coral Plus, 2 Actinic, 5 Blue Plus. I'm going to see how this plays out and may consider swapping out one more blue for either another Coral Plus or Purple Plus.I was looking at your photoperiod and think I should increase mine. Are you still running all 8-bulbs for 7-hours?
Your stuff looks amazing, I suppose adding another Coral Plus or Purple Plus will give you one more bulb for daylight spectrum and maybe spark the growth. Your combo is similar to mine, my tank is fairly new though. I'm currently running:I am, however i just changed bulb combo. My colors have been good but my growth has been garbage for a while now. Thanks man. Honestly I gave up trying to pull all the blue out during the actual shooting and do most of it in the edits after. If you shoot in RAW and edit in light room its very easy to pull the blue out of your picutres and get to a more natural color.Incredible shots.
So nice colors!!
How do you get such good colors when shooting on blue spec?
Can you recommend me anything for my Canon eos lenses?
On whites have no prob. But almost impossible to get your results.
Amazing.

Do you shoot with a filter? Thanks man. Honestly I gave up trying to pull all the blue out during the actual shooting and do most of it in the edits after. If you shoot in RAW and edit in light room its very easy to pull the blue out of your picutres and get to a more natural color.

You get incredible colors.
But yes, with that bulb combo you can't get any less blue.
Do you notice actinics to get much benefits for you??
I'm running 8 bulbs but 3 blue plus and 4 coral plus and a fiji to get whiter color.
Curious about actinics (want to see the colors I get go to my last building thread page .)
Honestly I haven't tried enough bulb combos to really speak to their benefit. I know a few old school reefers who pull amazing colors that swear by Actinics so when I made the jump to T5s i went with 6 blue plus and 2 actinics. I love my colors but growth has been an issue. I was always able to grow things like weeds under my radions but haven't had such luck under T5s. Granted I've had my share of issues since I added my second tank which could easily be the culprit of the lack of growth but I think lack of white bulbs are playing a role. I have seen a slight uptick in growth since adding the one C+ and my visible spectrum is still very nice to look at. Corals still look vibrant and the colors seem more accurate under the C+. And by accurate I mean how they are supposed to look. For instance, if you scroll back to an older post you will see how my Tree Purple Monster looked under my Radions vs. my T5s under my old bulb combo. That coral is as purple as they come but always looked blue under my T5s. The most recent pic i posted is under my T5s with the new bulb combo and the coral is purple.I was wondering the same thing about the actinics, he must like them as he runs 2 actinics and if planning to add another whiter bulb he mentioned replacing one of the blue plus.
@Russo757 Do you believe the par and spectrum from the actinics helps develop color pigments within the acroporas tissue and polyps? Or do you just like they way they look to your eyes with added "pop"
I use to but there really isn't a need when shooting in RAW and doing the WB edits post shoot. If i can ever figure out how to post a video on here I'll send a quick one of my editing. It takes secondsDo you shoot with a filter?
That would be cool!I use to but there really isn't a need when shooting in RAW and doing the WB edits post shoot. If i can ever figure out how to post a video on here I'll send a quick one of my editing. It takes seconds
Not really. It’s just live rock covered in mushrooms at this point. I’ve moved most stuff over to my grow tankWould you happen to have a DT? if so, would love to see FTS's! Meanwhile thanks for the candy
Looking good Ryan... Do I see some new pieces from Ratha?Few shots with the Nikon while quarantined
Yeah. I got two of those Malaysia corals. I really love the structure. The one on the right is Jumanji and left is Ghangis KhanL

I thought that was Jumanji and Ghengis. I have the same pieces. My Ghengis came in pretty rough and had barely any tissue left right out of the bag. It's bounced back nicely and starting to take off.Yeah. I got two of those Malaysia corals. I really love the structure. The one on the right is Jumanji and left is Ghangis Khan
