So I live in Canada and we struggled with a heat wave. I didn’t have AC in my house so I was trying to keep my fishos cool with frozen bottles of water. Regardless of my efforts, the tank went up to 86 degrees. In the past two to three days it has come down to 78, my heater is set at 77. I have a hydra 32 and two movement pumps plus my other corals are golden. Salinity is at 24.5 and I do water changes routinely. I fed the corals reef roíds today because I read he might be hungry. I usually feed them every two weeks or so because it’s a tiny tank (35 gallons) plus I give frozen food everyday. I’ll take any recommendations please, this is a flowerpot that had been happy until three days ago. I thought it was temporary because of the heat but it’s been a while now.

I've had Goni's close up for days in the past then perk right back up. That being said, I never had much luck with them over the long haul, maybe a year or so till they withered away on me unfortunately. Fingers crossed yours comes back...you might want to try some live phyto to see if it gives it a boost? Others will have some good recommendations.

Pretty much yes... 86 degrees for how long? I'm a nutter that keeps his tank at 81-82 all the time. If it was a day or so I think it bounces back. You did the correct thing in bringing down temp gradually. If you start to see those branches make an appearance a bit, of roids or live phyto would be helpful I imagine. But I wouldn't overdo the feed.

Oof it was around 85 for 2-3 days. I did a water change as well but it jumped to 86 the same day… talk about frustration. Then slowly backed down to 82 the day after and today 78

Is there any hope left? It’s been closed for about a week and a half now and for my luck there’s a second heat wave happening as we speak I did get some calcium, mg and alkalinity test and this were my results:
Ca 450

Mg 1260

Alk 13.1

Alk a bit high imo, cal and Mag look ok to my eyes. It may be on its way out unfortunately, at this stage...

Had one of these 15 years ago, lasted 6 months then kaput. Got one 3 weeks ago to try again. Seems to feed on micro algae, but obviously that’s just an observation.

Oh guys this was my favourite and most expensive coral… :( I hope I have it a good a fat life. Is there anything you recommend to decrease alkalinity? People just say to add less salt but mine is at 1.0245 right now so not much I can do in that case haha

There are ways of doing it yes. Dosing..water changes. I don't dose , but someone else who is more familiar with the aspects of it can advise on whether or not you should...I know some utilize white vinegar, or add Calcium. Your Ca numbers are in the upper range though , so not sure if thats a method that would help?
