I was looking at fish for my build and thought "man a miniatus grouper would be awesome" next day in the LFS.. they had one!

He was maybe 4". I thought.. he won't eat any of the other fish yet..he is too small.

A week later the wife says "hey, i havent seen the black clownfish in a couple days".
Grouper comes out from a rock and his stomach is so engorged and stretched out it was white.

He went back. :(

That stinks! Mine is about 4” or so and the next smallest fish is about six. Just hoping everyone keeps a lead on him in terms of growth!

I have a noobie question for you on the return coming down from the top of the tank: Since the drain is also skimming from the top of the tank, are you getting enough water mixture to properly filter? Would the filtration be more efficient if you ran the return with the same loop but underneath the rocks on the bottom? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
I mske sure the heater is within the water not getting dry and once the water drops below overflows, makes it easy to pull filter socks without the turbulence of water

The flow in the tank organized by the top, middle and bottom water columns. There is a closed loop responsible for the bottom flow. Its input is actually at the top third of the tank so that consistently mixes highly oxygenated “return” water with bottom water and push bottom water up the water column.

Due to space constraints in my ridiculously small dungeon of a basement I decided to go a different route than my DIY algae scrubber. It ran awesome but just to dang hard to work around.
So I went the route of a Santa Monica Surf 8x! Liked the fact it took up no space in my basement as it floats in my sump. Have had it running for 6 days now and getting some green action!

Can you explain more?

I love the Harlequin Tusk. Such amazing colors.

I just finished all sixteen pages. You're quite the storyteller. Nice job!
