She is huge!! About 16”! She is starting to get her nucal bump. BTW her name is Val. I bought her off another reefer @DaneGer21 who named her and I could never change it!
Wow that's awesome! I love the name--Val is perfect. Gorgeous tank! Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures!

Cheers!

nice updates! the fish pics are beautiful!

FTS?

how deep did you go with the cement for the floor supports?
I will get a FTS soon. Due to constraints of the room it actually is slightly angled.

actually that is not poured concrete at all. I have a friend that is a structural engineer and he recommended just using blocks like you would put down for a deck and the 4x4 supports. Luckily the tank runs perpendicular to the floor joists.

that was my plal too if I was going to put the 300 upstairs across of the peninsula I though that was a great idea the GF on the other hand not so much... :( so that's not happening .
maybe in the basement some day.

She is looking amazing and has grown so much! We still miss that beautiful fish, only upset that she outgrew our tank!

Keep up the good work!

Before and after rockwork pics. Sorry for the after one with being lights off but I just snapped it quick. Since the rockwork went down I haven’t taken too many “tank” pictures. Not easy to fix either as many of those rocks are too heavy for me to get with my grabber, tanks too deep to reach with my arms and if I get in there, there are certainly a couple of fish that will bite hard!

Amazing tank and beautiful fish. I have a 350G reef but am in the planning stages of a 500+ gallon fish only that my wife reluctantly gave me permission to set up for my 50th last year. Well, she said another tank, we're still negotiating the size lol. Anyway, one of my worries is nutrient and algae control, and I'm amazed how clean your rocks look in your pictures. You've provided a few details on how you do this (skimmer, ATS, 50G water change weekly, filter socks...), but can you go into more detail as to what you think works best and maybe the struggles you still have with big heavy messy eaters?
