Hi o

hi oliver. Do you have a link or something to view these dsunny lights?

https://www.amazon.com/DSunY-Saltwater-Controller-Bridgelux-Programmable/dp/B01N0GGLHQ

What did you need? Marketing is everywhere eek bay alibaba amazon..

Note though this is the newest model. Thread started w/ an old model (2015).
Back then some of their driver design was sort of questionable.. New ones are quite "upscale" from the orig and a lot more powerful..

Old and new is pretty much night and day..

Please there is a difficult question for me, fan version or no fan version, which is best for my tank.
The advantage of the no fan version is "best cover and highest optical uniformity" , so much save power energy.
The advantage of the fan version is penetration

if the deep of the tank is higher than 80cm, the no fan version is best.
if the deep of the tank is less than 60cm, and the light is for make coral grow (no make you feel amazing bright), the no fan version is best.
if you like brightness very much , please the fan version.

Technical speak, the no fan version can good work for coral grow.
more than 10K coral tank (include sps) working under that light. but there are really many buyer complain the brightness of no fan version. they compare the brightness under center point with no fan version.
because the size is small and save number of light and consider the weakest bright under the middle part between the light, fan version have to increase the power. so the center part is too much brightness.
I think it is waste your energy cost.

For example. the 150 length, 40cm wide, 60cm high (deep) tank.
fan version : 3 pcs 30cm. the total watt is 300W
no fan version: 2 pcs 75cm light, the total watt is 200w
Please how much energy cost for 1 year !

So, I always suggest no fan version to my friends. but it is not a easy question for me. sometime is subjective.

Please what is your advice about fan and no fan version?

I bought a 39" light in March 2017 with wifi. First the power supply failed in october 2018 and then the light failed in January 2019. I contacted oliver and he pleasant. He of course said it was water damage after he had me take it apart. Funny enough it was where the power cable is soldered to the circuit board and has sealant all around it. Rather than disagree with Oliver, I chose to live and learn. I will be upgrading my lights and I can tell you they will not be Dsuny. As an point of reference, I had a hagen glo 36" 2 - t5 tube fail and Hagen warrantied it no questions asked and that was almost 3 yrs after purchase.

Oh boy.. i just bought a pair of these on a whim. Hope they've improved in the last 4 years!
It seems like they might have. Please keep us updated! Which model did you buy? the fanless version or the ones with a fan?

what was the outcome are they still below ordinary.

Like the OP I spent a huge amount on my tank, well huge for me anyways, its 12ft long 3ft deep and 30 inch wide

will these lights keep up, the way I sore it was if these lights cost me $1600, rather then the $6000 plus I need for AI, and if they last me 1/3 of life expectancy, id be happy seeing they do a similar job

wife would rather AI encase of self combustion

I bought the ones with the fan, qnd i mus say, they've been great so far. Coral growth has noticeably exploded and the fans are super quiet. Im running a custom setting. Had to custom build a hanger.

I’ve been looking at these for my new 225. It’s 6ft x 2ft x 30” deep. I think the biggest challenge is figuring out which versions to get.

I was going to purchase 4 of the 75cm (30 in) fanless (Black) but the comments by Oliver on here seem to indicate that the fan versions would be better for my depth of tank. The are also to fanless versions including the black 75cm with 122 LEDs and the ones with the white covers with fewer LEDs and a completely different spectrum/led layout.

The fan versions are 40led each but says the listed power usage is only 90 watts so I’m assuming they are under-driving them at 2+ watts each. And the 75cm 122led are listed at the same 90w so they must be using lower wattage diodes.

I did purchase one of the 50cm black fanless last week on auction for cheap to see if I liked the layout and so far I am impressed.

'Oliver' is also the same person I have dealings with.. telling me to disassemble and take video and pictures. Just a complete runaround. These lights are garbage. 3 of the 4 I bought have completely failed now. I purchased back in Nov 2017. Don't buy D Suny or Pop bloom, they will disappoint you.
